    Every day is a school day! At Startline, we want to encourage our readers to be curious and ask lots of questions! That's why we don't shy away from authentic motorsport language. This way, we actively engage their brains to ask, "What does that mean?"

Founder

Hi! I'm Luke, the founder of Startline.
I’ve loved Formula 1 for as long as I can remember. Growing up, the sport was a massive part of my childhood. It was the backdrop to some of my favourite memories, from bonding with my dad as we raced go karts up and down the country, to watching cars drive round in circles most weekends with friends. It became a shared passion that helped me build friendships that will (hopefully) last a lifetime.

That childhood obsession eventually turned into a career. I’ve been incredibly lucky to work right in the heart of the action, spending time as an Engineer for both Mercedes F1 and Pirelli.

But Startline was born out of something much simpler: a desire to pass it on. I wanted to create a way to help parents/carers introduce their little ones to a sport that has given me so much, in hopes of sparking that same lifelong passion, connection, and joy from a very young age.
